The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday, Aug. 16, that recent operations have disabled seven of the ten largest logistics centers belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries.

The ministry stated that the company’s logistics hub in the Koledino industrial park near Podolsk, which at 250,000 square meters (2,691,000 square feet) is its largest warehouse, ceased operations following a large-scale drone attack on the Moscow region early Sunday morning.

A second warehouse in Domodedovo also halted operations, the ministry reported.

The Defense Ministry’s statement noted that “Russian logistics are acutely feeling the consequences of the war that the Russian Federation brought to Ukraine.”

The Sunday morning drone attack caused a large-scale fire at the Wildberries complex in the village of Koledino, as well as at the Severnoye Domodedovo multimodal logistics complex.

Local Telegram channels reported explosions and air defense activity in Domodedovo, Chekhov, Podolsk, and the Stupinsky district.

Following the attacks, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) announced that flight operations at Moscow’s Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports were temporarily suspended. [Continue reading…]
