After ICJ orders Israel to prevent genocide, U.S. and allies cut off funding for humanitarian aid to Gaza
UNRWA sure as hell chose a convenient moment to drop this news and hide it under all the ICJ coverage.
Any other day, this would have been a major headline: Israel submits evidence of UN employees’ complicity with Hamas. https://t.co/eTePR0lFyG

Israel sure as hell chose a convenient moment to drop this allegation against UNRWA.
A senior Israeli official said the Shin Bet and Israeli military intelligence provided information that pointed to the active participation of UNRWA staffers and the use of the agency’s vehicles and facilities during the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
“This was strong and corroborated intelligence,” the official said. “A lot of the intelligence is a result of interrogations of militants who were arrested during the Oct. 7 attack.”
So, Israel has been developing this intelligence for almost four months and then makes its allegations to UNRWA the same week that the ICJ made its ruling. What a coincidence?!
The attempt to shut down UNRWA is clearly an attempt to shift the attention away from the ICJ genocide order. But what ultimately Israel's attempt to destroy UNRWA reveals is precisely genocidal intent: Israel's calculated efforts to intensify starvation in Gaza.

It took @secblinken about 3 seconds to suspend @Unrwa aid based on mere allegations that 12 employees linked to Hamas attack, but despite concrete evidence that @IDF has indiscriminately & deliberately massacred tens of thousands of Palestinians – plausibly a genocide @CIJ_ICJ…

Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin tweeted:
UNRWA’s 13,000 employees provide life saving assistance to 2.3m people and at incredible personal cost – with over 100 staff killed in last 4 months.
🇮🇪 provided @UNRWA €18m in 2023 and will continue our support in 2024. (2/2)
